It has transformed the business.” We spoke with Tom Elliott, owner of Arch Fire Systems, to hear about their transition to Uptick and how it helped them scale their business over their first 12 months.
Tom Elliott, based in Plymouth, took the plunge and started his own fire and security business, Arch Fire Systems, 12 months ago.
It’s been an amazing first year, with almost £400,000 in revenue and some big projects at City College, St Andrew’s Church, and Abbey Hall in Plymouth, just to name a few.
We caught up with Tom to learn how Uptick’s fire safety management software has helped them fuel their growth.
For Tom, choosing Uptick came down to the platform’s all-in-one capabilities.
Previously, Arch Fire used a job management software that fell short of their needs. Gaps in the system meant manual processes were still needed, and they relied on additional tools like Excel and Word for quoting and invoicing.
“We were using a different software at the time, but it was a bit clunky. Some of the features weren’t there, and it didn’t do everything we needed. Uptick offered us everything we were looking for—everything in one package.”
Now, Arch Fire manages everything from service quotes to financial reports all within Uptick.
“I don’t need to do anything outside of Uptick. Everything is there when I need it, from financial reports to service quotes. It’s all integrated, so I can manage my operations more efficiently and stay on top of my profits and margins.”
One of Tom’s highlights this year was earning his BAFE accreditation. From the start, this was a key goal for Arch Fire, and it was also one of the reasons Tom chose Uptick.
“I recently became BAFE accredited. A really good achievement for my first year in business, and Uptick helped me secure the accreditation. We use the maintenance dashboard and SLA functionality to meet the criteria of BAFE’s guidelines.”
As Arch Fire continues to grow, they’ve moved into a new office that’s three times the size of their previous office. This move marks an exciting new chapter, and with Uptick’s support, Tom is confident the business will keep thriving.
“We’ve reached a point where we needed a bigger office. It’s been a great year, and Uptick has been a big part of that. We’re excited to keep growing.”
