Asbestos Labelling Made Simple
bSecure is a technology solution that can provide public access to asbestos reports including floor plans and outlining where it is located throughout the building. Uptick gives hands-on support in the implementation process including loading assets onto the register, providing stickers, and configuring the QR codes so they’re linked to the fixed assets.
Once the system is setup, council workers, tenants and members of the public can access information including:
- Asbestos reports
- Record of maintenance
- Certificate of occupancy
- Routine maintenance baseline data
- WorkCover building asbestos register
- Access and compliance process documentation
- Contractor compliance process

The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 (OHS Regulations) outlines required process in relation to identifying the presence of asbestos in workplaces and indicating its location to the general public.
According to WorkSafe, “a person with management or control of a workplace or an employer in a workplace where there is fixed or installed asbestos containing material (ACM) must, so far as is reasonably practicable, identify all asbestos that is under their management or control.”
Once identified, the presence and location of asbestos must be recorded in the asbestos register and clearly indicated. If reasonably practicable, labeling must be used to indicate the presence of ACM.
Watch Anthony Ziem (Team Leader, Programmed Maintenance, Kingston City Council, VICTORIA) talk about asbestos labelling and how they’ve managed the process using Uptick’s bSecure platform.
What does it cost to deploy the bSecure Asbestos register system?
The bSecure platform only costs councils $2 per building, per month.
It’s FREE to uploading and download information from the platform. Existing users of the platform can purchase stickers from within the system.
